HISTORY:
The dream of a
foundation began as a simple exchange of personal interpretations and
various studies of human consciousness amongst an intimate group of
artists. Wanting to advance in their knowledge while sharing their
understanding experience for the empowerment of the human individual,
the vision of the Panaginip Foundation was formed. By providing the
"hungry artist" with both training and a means of supporting themselves
financially, the group conceptualized the means of enacting this dream,
by creating the Panaginip Project.
By the quarter of 2001, the
first formal body then, then a group of four started working for the
dream's purpose and becoming. Since then, the Panaginip Project has
progressively worked towards making itself a foundation, then having
around 30 individual artists and several artist groups, making this
dream closer to reality. With poets, painters, musicians,
photographers, yogis, dancers and fashion
designers undoubtedly
excelling in their own genres of art, Panaginip pool of artists holds
vast talent, experience and potential waiting to be the canvas of human
expression.
2002, the project had its first set of poetry
readings, music nights and painting exhibitions via a cafe/resto
partnership (Encomium Cafe). This year, the project hopes to launch
itself to the public and with your help, build the Panaginip Project.
2003, the Panaginip Group became the official archivist for the International Lesbian and Gay Association, involved in actively
promoting the rights of gays, lesbians, transsexuals all over the world.

TIMELINE (Brief):
Panaginip I (2001) - Panaginip:
The
first group was formed to be exposed and become more aware of the
Philippine art scene an the artists involved therein. Communicating
with artists and individuals who had a common vision towards helping
better their endeavors - hence creating a dialogue between artists and
support groups. Panaginip I, was able to gather contacts who were
essential in making the group a conduit for its said mission.
Panaginip II (2001-2002) - Panaginip Group:
The
project took on a more active role by preparing artists and venues for
exhibiting artworks and finally allowing talks to take place between
the different genres. A cafe-resto (Encomium Cafe) was established by
some of the groups' members to be a partner a venue for most of the
project's activities.
Panaginip III (2002-2003) - Panaginip Project:
The
concept of Panaginip's Five Pillars was implemented and more events and
activities were organized. The group now boasts of poetry readings,
acoustic music nights, painting exhibits, art workshops and creative
writing instructions. It was also during this time that Panaginip
involved itself for the first time with an international organization,
the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA), as its first ever
group archivist. This archiving involved creating a condensed version
of 25 years of gay, lesbian, trans-gender, bisexual, etc. movement for
a public exhibit. Materials from Brussels headquarters, were sent-in
and a major exhibit was displayed during ILGA's 22nd World Convention
held in the Philippines. The group was also responsible for creating
mobile archive exhibits for use in the information dissemination
campaigns of ILGa and its affiliate organizations like the Women's
Media Circle and Pinoy Pride.
